The Detroit Historical Society is taking the wraps off its new Legends Plaza.
The new attraction pays tribute to legendary Detroiters whose cemented handprints and signatures will be permanently displayed throughout the outdoor exhibition.
The Detroit Legends Plaza is located near the entrance to the Detroit Historical Museum.
An event celebrating its opening is set for Wednesday.
Motown great Martha Reeves and boxer Tommy Hearns are expected to be on hand.
Their handprints are on display along with a number of other high-profile Detroiters, including Local 4's Carmen Harlan, Mayor Dave Bing, author Elmore Leonard, hockey Hall of Famer Gordie Howe and rocker Alice Cooper.
The newly renovated Detroit Historical Museum will reopen Nov. 23 with free admission for 60 straight hours throughout the Thanksgiving weekend.
