Friday at the Detroit Catholic Central High School football game, the loudest cheers were not for a team, but a family.
Rose Cipriano made her first public debut with her son Tanner, a Shamrocks player, on the 50 yard line.
"When she heard that it was Senior Parent Night, she was feeling good and made the decision to come out," said the Rev. John Huber – CC's principal.
With her brother-in-laws on either of her sides, Rose walked out onto the field wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses and her CC jacket.
Tanner, No. 99 on the team, stood smiling with his mom.
Rose spent time watching the band from the sidelines.
Rose has spent the last several months recovering from a violent baseball bat beating in April that killed her husband, Bob, and injured her other 17-year-old son, Sal.

The family's oldest son, 19-year-old Tucker, and his friend, 20-year-old Mitchell Young, are charged in the attack.
Catholic Central beat Racine Lutheran 40-0.
