A Christian legal advocacy group says it's representing an Army lieutenant colonel who was removed from his teaching position after using material deemed anti-Islamic.
Thomas More Law Center President and Chief Counsel Richard Thompson said Tuesday Lt. Col. Matthew Dooley's constitutional rights and academic freedoms were violated.
Dooley was removed from teaching at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Va., and the Pentagon suspended the course in April.
Thompson says the Ann Arbor-based law center is considering a lawsuit. He says Dooley has a military lawyer as he undergoes administrative discipline.
Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey ordered all branches to review training to ensure other courses don't use anti-Islamic material.
Thompson says Dooley was teaching officers to "think the unthinkable," and material was taken out of context.
